The Hunger Games

We watched The Hunger Games this weekend and if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. The movie does a good job condensing the information while staying true to the book's plot, and it creates affect and drama sometimes better than I thought the book could do.

I'll be the first to admit that I am slow to catching on to the trend of these books, but after watching the movie on a whim I was hooked!  Just bought all three and am currently in the middle of the second one. I expect to be finished by Sunday.

sun valley

Currently in Sun Valley Idaho. It is so nice here. It snowed yesterday and today was pretty and sunny. We had a great time snowboarding and skiing, I never want to leave. Off to the Pioneer saloon tonight; can't wait for the shenanigans in store!

 

Spring is here!

Finally home for spring break; what a busy quarter!  Lots of essays, LONG research papers, script coverage for an international competition, and lot of work but so much fun in animation.

Here's a little recap of things I just didn't have the time to post.

I was in an animation class where we made some of our own cartoons. Those were a few frames from one animation. It was definitely the most fun I've had in a class. 

 Went to the Santa Barbara Film Festival's Virtuoso award with Megan and Madi. Demian Bichir, Rooney Mara, Patton Oswalt, Shailene Woodley, and Andy Serkis were all honored. It was a very entertaining banquet, lots of talent on one stage.

I got to tag along on a weekend to Morro Bay with Nana and my parents. Here we're at Dockside enjoying some fresh fish

And over Memorial day weekend we went wine tasting through the Santa Ynez Valley. It was beautiful and had lots of very good wines. Pinots are the regions speciality. We first stopped at the Lompoc Wine Ghetto and if you've never heard of it you should check it out. We had too much fun there!
